I was experiencing intense pain the day after I underwent a TLIF [transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion] and laminectomy. My nurse figured out what the problem was and took steps to make it better: adjusted meds, used stool softeners, and gave me an enema…she did these and more. I was in the most pain I have ever been in, and not only did she do everything she could to help me, but she also listened to me and made sure I understood what was going on. Her kindness, compassion, and commitment to her patients are one of the reasons my stay here was so good. There are many people here who have been great, but Anna Kozak, RN, went all out to help me!
