Mary has been a nurse for over 40 years. She first obtained her license in 1980. She has never stopped being dedicated to the improvement of our profession and to the dedicated compassionate care of our patients. At Richmond she is one of our senior charge nurses and also a house supervisor. She is our go to team member for orienting new staff, especially new grad nurses. She really takes the time to understand where the team member is and directs the person's growth and learning from there. She makes the experience an individualized path. She also serves on our Nursing council. Mary has never been one to just coast along on auto pilot. Recently, a new male external catheter has been rolled out to UH and Mary took it upon herself to create a video and explain how it functions. She cared enough to make sure her colleagues knew exactly how to use it.
