Jan will be the first person up when a call light or alarm goes off as she wants to provide the best high-quality care possible for all patients on the unit.
Jan starts with heart every day. She comes to work with an excellent attitude and begins her shift by radiating teamwork. Working on the Oncology floor she meets our organization's mission to make a difference, every day with not only our patients but her coworkers as well. Jan sets the expectation on the floor by always lending a helping hand to everyone, whether it be other RNs, PCCs or our patients. She proves her hard work through her actions, for example whenever there is a new patient to the floor, she is one of the first people in the room. Whether she is the primary RN for this patient or not she is there to help transfer the patient and get them settled onto the floor. Jumping in to do vitals, help grab patient supplies, and assisting with medications if necessary. All of this is done without hesitation, displaying teamwork. This also provides a caring experience to the patients and her coworkers. Every night Jan works, when PCCs go around to empty all the trashes on the floor she jumps in and has all of the nursing station's trashes combined into one bag to help out. Leading by example, when she starts this everyone else joins in too. Everyone feels the warmth of appreciation and dedication she has to make this a great place to work. Jan will be the first person up when a call light or alarm goes off as she wants to provide the best high-quality care possible for all patients on the unit. Her positive influence is contagious, making the morale on the floor increase (patients and staff) whenever she is working.

Jan was a nurse for 6 years in the Philippines before moving to the United States and joining the Monument Health organization. She has been working on the Oncology unit for 2 years now sharing her knowledge and expertise in nursing with us. Jan has become such an important member of the oncology family. She continues to lead and develop her education as she has obtained her Chemotherapy administration certification, ACLS certification, plasmapheresis training and is currently working towards her Med-Surg certification. These are just a few examples of how Jan is being a superstar nurse on our unit. Overall she is such an exceptional. Jan is proof that Monument Health’s vision is being carried out. Jan does the right thing, every time.
