Eric is an extraordinary employee that truly embodies the spirit of NorthBay (compassionate quality care). He cares for his team, the patients, and the other units. As a leader, Eric continues to lead by example. Eric is always one of the first people to jump into any situations where help is needed. He sets the direction for others to follow and encourages others to work together for the good of our common goal- quality patient care. There are many essential qualities that make a good nurse and the same can be said for a lead in a busy unit such as the emergency room but what makes Eric stand out above the rest is his dedication to the patients here at NorthBay. Eric doesn’t have the mindset that once the patients leave his unit, they are no longer his patients. Instead, Eric sees every unit as one team and does everything he can to support them. If an RRT is called, Eric will call or pop by just to make sure everything is okay as an ACLS RN. The fact that he does this speaks to me very loudly because he makes sure his unit is okay and then comes onto the Med Surg/Med Tele unit. It is not required of him to do that but he does it anyway because he cares about the patients and staff members on the floor. When something is asked of him, he always responds and talks to everyone kindly and with respect. If anyone is deserving of a daisy award, it is him.
