When my husband and I walked onto the OB floor for the birth of our third baby we were both relieved to see Christy McClellan as our nurse. She had such an impact on the birth of our second child, and her familiar face was just what we needed to calm our nerves. The title “nurse” comes with a lot of skills, knowledge, duties, etc. and one of those that’s the most important is serving as a Patient Advocate. It is obvious that her main focus is the patient and making the labor/delivery process as individualized as possible. She discusses the options and gives benefits/disadvantages which is so important in intense moments. Forever grateful for Christy!
