I can’t imagine not having Rolando and Ashley during those difficult days, let alone all their dedication and behind-the-scenes work that many do not even know about.
From the moment they stepped into their roles, it was an instant fit! It’s crazy to look back at what we did before because having Rolando and Ashley so readily available has truly made an impact on our team members, patients, and our everyday routine. They are constantly rounding on every unit making their presence for the day known and available. They are willing to help with the most minimal tasks including charting questions, rhythm analysis, transferring patients, IV’s or blood draws to emergency situations. It’s comforting to know you have someone to call if you feel like “something just isn’t right” and they are there without hesitation. The calming demeanor, yet knowledgeable and powerful voice they bring to an RRT or code ensures that everything runs smoothly and patients are well cared for. They have an act for making team members and patients feel at ease after meeting for only a few minutes. Not to mention all their hard work throughout Covid.

They put themselves at risk hundreds of times to be present bedside and also assist during intubations. I have never felt more comfortable during a pandemic than knowing they were around if anything was needed and would be there within seconds, literally. I can’t imagine not having Rolando and Ashley during those difficult days, let alone all their dedication and behind-the-scenes work that many do not even know about. They work tirelessly building a department that is so strong and influential. They improved sepsis numbers and bundle compliance with yet another initiative. I’ve seen them on the unit even on their days off and are both active members of shared governance. Yet again, proving their dedication never stops and it doesn’t go unnoticed! So thank you Rolando and Ashley for all you’ve done and continue to do, you both have improved patient outcomes and assisted team members in more ways than you know!
