Amy thinks ahead and thinks things through thoroughly.
Amy does such an incredible job and gives the word “Dedicated” a new meaning. She keeps track of everything--- staffing, schedule, new rules or policies, assuring everyone is up to date on their CPR, ACLS, Accuchek, nursing license, etc. She has done such a magnificent job with Cerner computer learning. A superuser, she not only went to a class but used the off-campus link to practice and study it at home so that she could learn as much as possible. She was our Cerner teacher. She made a list of guidelines for us to use (at home on her own time) to help us remember where to go and how to get there on the computer. Her patience is so wonderful. She went over the same thing over and over again until we “got it”. AND… she takes an assignment--- patients. Her attitude is SO “WE CAN DO THIS”. We feel that from her it goes a long way to help us! She thinks ahead and thinks things through thoroughly. She always has questions about new plans, showing that she is thinking!

Recently we started sending knee replacement patients home. Right away she was in touch with the coordinator at the doctor's office to find out details. They go home with extra dressings and ice packs. She was right away thinking ahead. We need to have those in stock. She emailed stores to get the necessary supplies stocked on our unit.

She doesn’t miss a detail. She is a perfectionist and this unit means so much to her. She really cares. She redid our charge sheet to include info needed the morning of surgery since there is little left of a paper chart. We can fill in info the day before to decrease searching for it on the day of surgery--- Labs needed, meds to be pulled, etc. I just really think she should be recognized for all her dedication to our unit.
