I have seen Lydia in action as she never runs from a challenging situation, rather, she runs towards it to help, de-escalate, and support both the patient and the team member.
Lydia is the epitome of extraordinary behavior. I have most recently been blessed to work with her, but I was instantly in awe of her genuine care and compassion for people. She is selfless in her desire to help in staffing, conflict resolution, patient satisfaction, and interdisciplinary strategies. I have seen Lydia in action as she never runs from a challenging situation, rather, she runs towards it to help, de-escalate, and support both the patient and the team member.
The love she has for THH is evident. She gives so tirelessly for others. Creates an environment where attributes of trust, compassion, mutual respect, continued professional development and ethical behavior are modeled and supported. She offers an open willingness to jump into staffing to help when our patients and our work family needs it. She has spent one on one time with some of our more challenging and difficult to please patients and family members. So much so, that they frequently only request to speak with Lydia.
She also has the beautiful ability to balance both grace and accountability for our team. She is approachable, but can “keep it real” for our team so they receive the growth opportunity in a positive way.
Motivates staff with a shared vision and enthusiasm to achieve better outcomes for themselves and for their patients. Lydia is actively involved in the EPIC roll out. She is assisting with training within the AdventHealth system. She also is chemo provider certified and assists other team members to sign up for training, education, and studying of the certification to inspire their pursuit of specialty certifications. Additionally, she has taken it upon herself to broaden and appreciate a perspective within our facility by learning and working in the house supervisor role.
Promotes and enhances the image of nursing within the organization, the community, and the profession. Lydia willingly volunteers to provide items for nursing forums, town halls, and hospital events to celebrate our teams. She is an active volunteer in the community for autism awareness. She loves to utilize her creativity to participate and coordinate the celebration of our THH work family. Lydia shows an admirable desire to continue in her personal and professional growth. She doesn’t do this for a competitive gain. Rather, she shows a strong desire to lead by example and help others learn and grow as well.
If I were a patient or had a loved one here, I would want Lydia leading the team caring for me or my family. That is a consensus from the team she leads with so much grace and humility.
