Michael was very patient with my Dad who is an elderly patient. The look of care and concern is easily visible on Michael’s face.
Michael is very attentive to patients and families. He tentatively listens to patients and makes them aware that they have his undivided attention. His compassion is not only shown with his patients, but also with his teammates.
Michael is careful to explain procedures to patients and families. He has sat at the bedside of his patients to hold their hands during difficult times. He never makes patients and/or families feel rushed.
Michael helped family members to help the patient every time he was needed and before he was asked. Michael is trustworthy, and his teammates know they can confide in him. He often gets so involved with his patients that he is in rooms for prolonged periods of time. When he is not at the bedside, he is always willing to provide assistance to others.
Michael was very patient with my Dad who is an elderly patient. The look of care and concern is easily visible on Michael’s face. He is always pleasant and greets everyone with a warm smile. He is an advocate for the profession of nursing and doing what is right for the patient. He demonstrates excellence by checking, then double-checking for accuracy!
Michael’s care for detail was very evident. My Dad’s room was close to the nurse’s station which made for a good vantage point to see that Michael took initiative and was always busy keeping other staff aware of the status of his patients. He is always on the move and constantly rounding on his patients to ensure all safety measures are in place
Michael was always ready to assist his team and his patients during the 9 days my dad was a patient. He put the needs of his patients and teammates first. His concern for others is evident in his interactions and even through his humor.
