I've been working in the healthcare industry, on and off, since 2002. I've worked in home cares, assisted living, nursing homes, and now in Swedish Hospital, and yet; I've never met or heard a charge nurse, like Ryan. He is the most hard-working, the most helpful, and the most humble charge nurse I've ever met. When you come to his unit, he greets you with a smile and thanks you for being there, and when you're leaving again, he thanks you for being there! Very rare for a PSA to get that. In their unit, they had a few active patients with bed alarms on, and every time the alarm goes off, is Ryan who runs first, then next minute he is walking a patient in the hallway, and so on, with all of that he still made sure the PSA got a bathroom break and regular break. If my patient needed something, Ryan would hear and got it before I even asked for help. When he brought stuff to my patient and she yelled at him and insulted him, he just acted like he never even heard what she was saying. His positivity shows on all other caregivers on unit 9SW when he is there. What a great leader. Thank you!
