Despite the stressful situations she has encountered, Lauren has never put her positive and supportive attitude in her pocket.
Lauren has been a nurse in the CCU for 9 years. Her clinical knowledge and experience are always valued and appreciated in the unit and throughout the rest of the hospital. Every day Lauren has worked for the past two weeks, she has intubated one to three patients, managed her charge duties, and was a resource to anyone who needed her including patients and family members. Despite the stressful situations she has encountered, Lauren has never put her positive and supportive attitude in her pocket. She can be heard laughing and cracking jokes with the rest of the team while working hard on multiple complex situations.
It can be very easy during those difficult times to feel very overwhelmed and defeated- but not Lauren. She takes charge of situations and leads her team toward the end goals without missing a beat. Lauren is supportive of her leadership team and always manages to keep the CCU and PCU teams in good spirits, despite those physically and emotionally draining days.
On one of those days, Lauren assisted with two intubations and before she left she wrote two recognition cards for her teammates that she knew had a difficult day. Despite everything, Lauren also takes the time to update families in such an empathetic and professional way. One of Lauren's greatest qualities is that she always seems to have everything under control and that confidence and leadership have built a very trusting relationship with her peers, patients, families, and leadership team. Lauren is a constant source of positivity and she constantly supports everyone. She is simply amazing.
Note: This is Lauren's 2nd DAISY Award!
