My 2 yr old son went into respiratory distress out of the blue. We quickly took him to the ER at Medical City McKinney where he was put on oxygen and we were told he had pneumonia and needed to be transported to a children’s hospital for further treatment. I asked to be sent to Medical City Dallas, my second home, and where my son's specialists are; but was informed Dallas was closed to pediatric transports and we were going to be sent to Children’s instead. My heart sank. The thought of being in an unfamiliar place and having to start over and explain my son's complicated medical history had me anxious. I called Heather at home and asked for her help. She didn’t hesitate and went above and beyond to get us diverted to Medical City Dallas. Not only did she secure us a bed on the pediatric floor but we were able to bypass the ER and be directly admitted from the transport team to his room. She came by first thing in the morning to check on not only my son but my husband and myself, she even brought us breakfast. Heather truly cares like family and we cannot thank her enough.
