My son R was born in November and both my husband and I stayed with him for 12 days on the ward following a traumatic birth, meaning both R and I needed a lot of care initially. R was also under the care of the Neonatal Unit. I mean it when I say none of us would have coped if it weren’t for the midwives. When we knew Steph or our other midwife were on shift, particularly during the night - which was hard for me due to my anxiety - we were instantly relieved and reassured. Both of them gave me, R, and my husband all the time we needed both practically, clinically, and emotionally. The hospital stay was more traumatic for me on top of the birth, but they did everything they could for us. They advocated, chased things up, listened and supported me when I cried, made sure we had all the advice we needed as first-time parents, and most importantly, looked after R with such compassion. They are all beautiful people. These members of staff are a credit to the NHS and deserve praise. I’d really appreciate it if this feedback could get back to them all. Thank you all.
