As you can tell by the internal email, I am also a coworker, but I wanted to share my wonderful experience and nominate Jeanne for a DAISY Award. I, unfortunately, tested positive for COVID after being exposed to my young daughter at home. After 12 days of being at home and trying to treat this nasty virus myself, I felt like things were getting out of control. Obviously, I was trying to avoid the ED at all cost. I knew I needed to get back to work but given the chest discomfort, ear pain, etc. and given my past history of yearly bronchitis, I knew it was time to seek medical attention. I made an urgent care appointment close to home and the facility itself was fabulous. I was checked in with ease and when Jeanne walked in, she was like a ray of sunshine!! Jeanne was the kindest, most caring nurse I have probably ever had in my entire life. She really took time to know me as an individual and coworker and was so thankful for what all we are doing here at the hospital amidst this pandemic. I felt like she was genuinely concerned about me and my health. Never once did I feel rushed nor did I feel like she was bothered. Once the PA-C came in, she assessed me, reviewed my chart and I was given medications. Thankfully, I have completed my course of treatment and feel so much better. Jeanne is definitely a wonderful asset to the UNC Rex team. Thank you Jeanne, I appreciate you!
