I hope Jean Marie knows how much of a difference her compassion and care made to us. She took the time to listen, ask questions, and let me ask questions. She even asked to join us for prayer when my minister came into the room. Even when she was not my nurse, she checked on me when she saw I was in pain.
The day she was assigned to me as my nurse, she pointed to me and grinned, and I knew I was going to be taken care of and cared about. I can’t tell you how much of a difference it made that she took the time to stop and really listen to me. She actually told me, “Tell me everything that has been going on”. Nobody else asked me that, and it was such a relief. Hearing a Stage 4 Cancer diagnosis was a shock, but Jean Marie’s compassion and care were a bright light and truly, honestly helped me start to find the strength to face treatment.
