Marissa Mafnas has been our COVID cohort nurse and full-time MWF nurse at SLO for the entire pandemic. She goes above and beyond to ensure all patients get treatment. She’s very passionate about patient care and always puts patient care first. We had a situation one day when the 2nd nurse on MWF, had to take his wife to the ER and gave us very short notice. Marissa knew that our capacity on the central coast is tight and there was no way we can move half of the patients elsewhere. She went in and took on the entire 20 station floor on her own, she organized the team to ensure that the day ran safe and every patient was treated. This is just one story about her commitment to patient care and not leaving any patients behind.
