My son went by squad to Sentara Albemarle. He suffered from complications from ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). After being in the ER, he was moved to the surgical unit. I want to thank all of the staff for their kindness, compassion, and tender care given to my son. His nurse, Warner, was so nice. Even though my son had trouble speaking (slurred speech due to ALS) Warner took extra time to make sure he understood what my son needed to be comfortable. I stayed the night with my son and Warner was there always checking on us. Thank you, Warner! Because of your care, we were able to have our son home for a few more days. Our son died peacefully at home. God’s blessings to all of you!!
