Professor Hendricks provides the students with guidance, words of encouragement, and embodies the character of a leader.
Professor Hendrick goes above and beyond her role as both a nurse and a nursing facilitator/professor for the School of Nursing at NMSU. She provides the students with guidance, words of encouragement, and embodies the character of a leader, someone that I truly aspire to resemble as a future nurse. Through instructed demonstrations, displayed advocacy for our patients, and enthusiasm to teach us by example makes Professor Hendricks the perfect candidate for The DAISY Award.
She is the type of professor to print out extra papers, email us links to educational videos, and content that she feels will help us further excel as nursing students. She will phrase questions so that we could use our own critical thinking skills while guiding us in the appropriate direction. She knows what she is talking about, I cannot think of a question that truly stumped her whether in clinical or in class. She is unbiased and treats each and every one of us fairly. She provides each of us with constructive feedback and helpful information. She displays excellent interpersonal skills with our patients and went above and beyond her role as a nurse in the clinical setting. She speaks to those around her whether that's students or colleagues with the utmost respect.
