Being a provider who works in a different hospital setting, my husband (the patient) and I had reservations about having his CABG performed in a hospital in which we knew no one or even the hospital system. I have to say that every step of our journey was a pleasant and comforting surprise. All with whom we came into contact were compassionate, friendly, and very courteous. Of course, there is always one person who was always on our mind, having smiles and comfort as we are home to recover. That one person was the charge nurse, Lesa Jones, RN. Lesa is one of the most enthusiastic and dependable nurses that I have ever had the opportunity to work with and actually was the family member of the patient. She possesses not only excellent critical thinking but she demonstrated the highest degree of compassion and dignity toward patients. Her commitment to adhere to the highest standard of care and excellence in seeking out solutions to challenging situations is evidenced in her around-the-clock dedication to her chosen profession. We were amazed that she was able to handle her workload and also assist other patients and nurses in need. We felt assured that whatever challenge presents itself, Lesa will meet this challenge head-on and she will do so in such a way that it will far exceed the expectations of the patients, staff, and management. My husband and I believe she is a true DAISY Nurse.
