Having Amanda as a part of my birth experience changed my labor perception from panic and fear-mongering to informed, prioritized, safety, and respect for my body and my wishes. She went above and beyond to make us feel safe and heard while also fiercely protecting our patient rights. I was able to put all of my trust in her for the safety of my baby’s health, as well as mine. I ended up having very different labor and delivery than I ever anticipated but felt confident and safe in my delivery. Thanks to Amanda! Because of her guidance, I made the best decisions possible for my baby and myself. I believe that the confidence she gave me in my decisions may have saved me from developing postpartum depression after a very long, traumatic, and intense birthing experience. She went out of her way to even find my extended family outside of the unit to inform and comfort them after she was finished with her shift. I can never thank her enough, and pray that everyone has someone like her in their labor and delivery experience. I will never forget Amanda and will always be grateful for her!
