I would hope somebody like Arlene would be there to help my family out.
Arlene was leaving work and saw an elderly gentleman walking through our parking lot who seemed to be lost but also SOB. Alene approached the man, and apparently, he was here for some type of testing in the hospital that day. When he was done, he got lost and was unable to locate his car. Arlene offered him help, but he quickly declined and said he was fine. Arlene got to her car and decided to drive back; when she saw him, he was bent over the garbage can, very short of breath. At that point, Arlene got him into her car and drove him around the front of the hospital. She drove him around the parking lot several times looking for his car and was unable to find it. She then walked this gentleman into the Bettendorf, found one of our security guards, and asked him to help this gentleman look for his car. This story is so touching, as I always relate back to "if this was my parent," I would hope somebody like Arlene would be there to help my family out. Just wanted to share this as she truly showed the quality of compassion that we talk about in our weekly newsletters.
