I would like to nominate LuCinda McMillan for a DAISY Award for her overall excellence and above-and-beyond attitude. Ms. McMillan excels in all areas of nursing care, concern, and commitment. She exudes competence and accountability as she is always punctual and willing to stay late to ensure patients and their families are satisfied with their VA experience. She volunteers for collateral responsibilities within the clinic and medical center in general. She is committed to detail, and her attitude is infectious as she cares for her patients. Her patients are treated like they are the most important people in the facility. Ms. McMillian demonstrates high reliability, and she motivates her fellow nurses and staff members. Finally, she is an example of empathy, compassion, and patience for those diagnosed with cancer or in need of other hematology services. She is the kind of nurse that the DAISY Award is intended for and will represent its intent well.
