Michelle has gone above and past her efforts to make sure Veterans' needs are met. She has also gone beyond to show ICARE values, integrity, commitment, advocacy, respect, and excellence. Ms. Mitchell was assigned to take care of a Veteran, and the family expressed their gratitude noting she was "a leader." They shared that Michelle maintained and gained their trust and stated that she is compassionate, demonstrated professionalism, and is very skilled and excellent in what she does. Michelle immediately recognized and reported a change in his condition, all while keeping him in a good humor, even though he was not feeling his best. The whole family had something positive to say to include sharing that she is eager to learn, is focused on the Veteran, and demonstrates the ICARE mission/vision of the facility. She took time out to educate on wound care and medication changes. She is top-notch, "the best," as stated by the Veterans brother. We all could say more but do not have room to write. Words are not enough to express our deepest thanks. The family says she is energetic and a role model. We love you, and thanks for motivating him and using tough love when he needed it. Michelle was always so professional and dedicated to her job. Lexington VA Health Care System is blessed to have her on its staff.
