Becky cares for her patients with kindness and dignity. She is always seeking to learn and teach others, researching and providing educational printouts for new orientees. She has a thorough knowledge of her responsibilities and is seen as an expert in the CSICU setting. She keeps abreast of trends and changes in the ICU and is a great resource for our current staff. Becky knows education is the key to positive patient outcomes. She consistently takes additional time to ensure patients and families have clear and precise communication regarding their plan of care. In the hard times, she provides comfort to her patients and families by setting realistic expectations and helping them understand what to expect. She also ensures patients and their families understand what to do at home after discharge. Becky has experienced the worry of a loved one being hospitalized in the very unit in which she has worked. It is this personal experience that has given her the ability to experience healthcare from a different perspective and therefore provide support and guidance from that unique position. Becky has always been engaged in improving patient care delivery in the ICU setting. She strategically contributes to departmental initiatives with the goal of excellent patient care and experience. She has been supportive and steadfast in helping to inspire, motivate, and guide our nursing staff and everyone we encounter to achieve excellence. She has touched the lives of not only her patients and families but her co-workers as well in the CSICU.
