For Summer, nursing is more than just her occupation, it's her calling. Selfless, dedicated, compassionate, and caring, Summer transcends the definition of the ideal healthcare professional. She sets the standard for which her patients are her family. This is innate and can't be taught. Her support, reassurance, and encouragement during my dad's final days were the only reason I was able to get through it. Our family dynamic is complicated, to say the least, and in knowing that, Summer was there when I needed her because she knew how much I loved my dad and how trying the whole situation was. Summer is special and a gift to both NHRMC and CVICU. Though my interaction with Summer was short-lived, it was immensely meaningful, and I'll never forget what your team did for me, my family, and my dad. With deepest appreciation,
