I attribute my astonishingly quick recovery to her acute attention to detail and lively warm bedside manner.
Although I am a first-time emergency patient I am no stranger to the hectic nature of any healthcare facility. I was admitted to the hospital in severe pain of burning sensations enveloping my body from my eyes and neck then spanning all the way down to my legs ankles and feet, swollen from the same ailment causing me to be immobile. After a painful 3-4 hour wait to be seen in the ER, I was then admitted into the hospital (NYU Langone hospital- Long Island) for my condition at around 9:00 pm.

Angry at the pain and embarrassed of my less-than-ideal appearance, I was greeted by a nurse whose smile beamed through her mask. Her bright disposition consumed the room and soon with it, my pain. Her name is Dorine Lafosse. To accompany my intolerable situation, I (a few hours prior) began to feel a growing hunger. I had not eaten being distracted and rushed off to receive care. After greeting my mother and me with unmatched professionalism and warmth, we relayed this concern to her. Without hesitation, she immediately contacted the unknowingly closed cafeteria. However, she with impressive speed scavenged a substantial meal for me while still meeting my dietary requirements. With this, my mom and I were finally able to exhale in relief knowing I was in more than exceptional hands.

While her touch was the only thing more genial than her voice she continuously aided me in applying my prescribed creams 3 times a day. Even whilst handling several rooms and being seemingly understaffed on the second day of my visit she met every demand with quickness and grace and nothing was too big an ask. Besides the medication, I attribute my astonishingly quick recovery to her acute attention to detail and lively warm bedside manner. Although my time with her was brief she left a lifelong impression. She truly is an aspersion and exceeds the precedent expected of nurses. In my opinion, she is the new high bar to be met. I am and will always be grateful to even have met such a person and absolutely know she will continue to exceedingly touch all of her patients' lives. I give my prayers and best wishes to her and her family for having given her to us.
