Danielle took such good care of my son.
I want to let you know what excellent care my son received while he was at Monument Health Rapid City. He had an accident while visiting for the Sturgis rally. He was transferred from the Sturgis Lead/Deadwood hospital due to the extent of his injuries. Danielle was absolutely wonderful to him, his wife, and me (his mom). When his wife got the call that he was injured and being transferred to Rapid City, we were hysterical and terrified. We didn’t know much initially, so we were trying to contact anyone at either hospital for information on him or his condition. After several hours of not knowing much and left to assume the worst, his wife finally contacted Danielle, a nurse at Rapid City, and she was able to get a report on him and updated information. Over the next 24 hours, Danielle kept her completely updated and reassured her as to the extent of his injuries and that he was doing ok. She answered every question we asked patiently and thoroughly. We got the first flight we could get out of Ohio to Rapid City. We arrived at Rapid City hospital, and from the moment we entered, literally every person was kind and helpful. From the person at the front desk to the aide that pushed his wheelchair when he was discharged, all were exceptional. Danielle took such good care of my son. When we arrived, she and another nurse assisted us in obtaining food and answering all of our questions. Danielle even got permission from her supervisor to let us sleep in the room with him. She kept his medications on schedule and even gave us pointers on transportation back to the airport once he was cleared to fly home. When I went to the pharmacy, the lady at the pharmacy was kind and helpful as well. Your staff took a very scary situation and turned it into a manageable one with ease. My son’s wife and I felt helpless, and we couldn’t get to Rapid City fast enough, but we had full confidence in his medical staff that they were taking great care of him based on the conversations we had in the 36 hours we were waiting to leave or while we were in transit. Your staff took a frightening situation and made it so much less so, and we are all forever grateful to literally everyone there. You have an outstanding group of people there, and we are forever indebted to their kindness, professionalism, and capabilities.
