I am currently in nursing school and use the little amount of free time that I have to work at Children's Hospital as a nurse tech! I work on 3-Center with Sydney and she has really changed my outlook on nursing in such an incredible way.

Over the summer, I watched Sydney advocate for all of her patients, every single day. There was one instance where she would not give up on advocating for her patient until the right thing was done for that patient. Sure, I learn about how we have to be a voice for our patients in nursing school, but I never thought much of it. Watching Sydney advocate for this patient was the most influential part of my nursing education thus far. I was shown exactly what it means to be a nurse and to be a voice for your patients. I was shown firsthand that what we do and say on behalf of our patients really makes a difference.

Sydney goes above and beyond for each patient and I hope to be like her when I become a nurse. I am truly grateful that I was able to experience that and work with Sydney these past few months. I'm looking forward to continuing to work on 3-Center throughout the rest of my schooling and hopefully, apply for a job on 3-Center when the time comes!
