Giselle spent several hours reaching out to various assistance programs pharmacies and online cost-saving programs which resulted in the patient obtaining an affordable option for a critical medication.
Giselle is the epitome of care and compassion who embodies all of the qualities that make her an incredible nurse and co-worker. Giselle strives every single day to make not only her co-workers lives easier but the lives of our patients better! She spends countless hours working on prior authorizations tracking down necessary medical records and supporting and reassuring our most vulnerable patients over the phone. There is no challenge too big for Giselle to take on and she does this with grace perseverance and dedication. Giselle works tirelessly to ensure that every last patient need is addressed and she never hesitates to help or take on a new task. Her contributions to patient care are invaluable and without a doubt, her skills knowledge, and commitment to her patients has a strong impact on positive patient outcomes. With more than 40 years of experience, Giselle continues to be an inspiration and resource for fellow nurses and also embraces all things new.

Some specific examples of how Giselle’s dedication has positively impacted patient care are: a patient who was experiencing difficulty obtaining a necessary medication due to cost. Giselle spent several hours reaching out to various assistance programs pharmacies and online cost-saving programs which resulted in the patient obtaining an affordable option for a critical medication to help prevent seizures (Giselle would have paid for the medication herself if that were an option).

Another example is when a patient's Veteran’s insurance was declining coverage for a necessary amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) medication; Giselle discovered that the patient had a secondary insurance plan and began the prior authorization process for coverage. After several hours and many phones calls the patient’s medication was approved under the secondary benefit and the patient was able to start his medication. Despite long hold times, countless phone transfers speaking with different departments, and two different insurance companies Giselle did not give up until her patient had what he needed.
