My aunt had fought a hard battle with cancer and was admitted to Harris Hospice. As soon as we arrived to the unit Lia greeted us with a bright smile and went right to assessing my aunt. She was very attentive to details and made sure we knew what was going on. As someone with a medical background, I was extremely pleased with the care and kindness that she showed to my aunt. Not only was she attentive to my aunt's needs, but she also made sure we had pillows and blankets and anything else to be comfortable to spend our last little bit of time with my aunt. While our time with Lia was short, it was very impactful. When the time came, she was very comforting, but also made sure to handle the business side of things so we could say our goodbyes. She didn't rush us at all and made sure to tell us if she could do anything to let her know. When walking off the unit she gave me and my family big hugs and gave her condolences once again. My family was so thankful to have Lia to help our family member pass with dignity, and have her there for us during a very difficult time. Lia is a true sweetheart and a gift to the nursing profession and the patients and families in her care.
