Stephanie is a nurse practitioner for the pediatric cardiology team here at UVA. One of her patients was coming from a distance away. The social worker had scheduled a hotel and LIFT car to pick up and bring the patient and his grandmother to the hospital for the procedure. His grandmother was not able to walk to the hospital because of COPD. Something happened with the LIFT service and the patient could not get to the hospital. Stephanie got a wheelchair and went to the hotel to get the patient and his grandmother. She wheeled the grandmother to the hospital so the patient could have his procedure. This is just one example of the dedication and care that Stephanie provides for her patients every day.
