My husband entered the ER and received a devastating diagnosis of AML. He was transferred to the 5North chemo. From the very beginning, Tom was assigned to care for my husband, and on many subsequent days, he was caring for him. I was so pleased with the care that was provided on a consistent basis by every nurse who provided care for my husband. Tom stood out from the rest as a man of great compassion who treated my husband with the utmost respect and dignity, even when my husband was delirious and/or unconscious. He provided care that was above and beyond, staying more than 1 or 2 hours late 2 days when my husband became deliriously in need of pain relief, not leaving his side to provide assistance to him. Tom also gave me respect and incredible kindness. I don’t think I could have gotten through this time without his loving compassion. My husband went to the hospice house with Tom there to bid him goodbye. He died the following day. Thank you, Tom.
