Ms. Grace is an exemplary nurse. She shows genuine concern and care for her patients.
Most of the time if we review the Press Ganey comments every month in our patient experience meeting, Grace is being mentioned as one of the best nurses. She is also a team player and helpful. Ms. Grace is an exemplary nurse. She shows genuine concern and care for her patients. Every month that we have a patient experience meeting her name always comes up stating that they receive excellent care from her. As a co-worker, she is a very good resource and team player. She truly deserves the award. Grace Laranang is the epitome of the nursing professional practice model.
We teach. Grace is one of the champions of Early Mobility. She taught and assisted the staff in screening patients for Mobility Screening with collaboration from the staff on the main campus. This empowered the staff to mobilize patients early which is very important in post-op care. Grace also makes sure that her patients understand all the discharge instructions before they leave.
We Care. Her holistic care of patients leaves a mark on patients as evidenced by patients' feedback. For the past couple of months, as discussed in our patient experience meeting, when patients were surveyed post-discharge and asked whom they wanted to recognize-- Grace's name always comes up.
We Heal. When Grace takes care of her patients, she treats them as her family, providing a patient and family centered care, which endears her to all patients and their families.
We Discover. She is active in filling up the Get to Know Me Board in our unit. This helps the unit and other departments in getting acquainted with the client that they serve. The unit always has 2 nurses working per shift. If I am working with Grace, even though the unit is so busy, there is less stress as I know that she has my back and I am confident that she is always there to lend a helping hand. She responds to the call bell promptly to all patients whether that patient is assigned to her or not. She is the personification of the privileged to care and passion for excellence.
