Tammy made sure dad was comfortable throughout her entire shift. She shampooed his hair and massaged his scalp, which he loved.
Tammy went above and beyond in the care she provided my dad. From the time I arrived, she was very welcoming. Today is day 8 of dad being here; we are all tired and our days are blending together. Tammy was extremely understanding. She took the time to listen to our concerns and our stories. She took interest in learning about my dad before his sickness. Tammy made sure dad was comfortable throughout her entire shift. She shampooed his hair and massaged his scalp, which he loved. She made sure to talk to him before doing any treatment even if he isn’t able to respond. I talked to Tammy about my faith being tested, and she offered to pray for and over my dad. This is the first day I have felt the nurse truly cared about my dad, and his family too! I truly wish more nurses were like her. I would restore some hope in scary times. Thank you doesn’t say enough.

Tammy took exceptional care of my ex-husband and best friend while in the ICU. She prayed with us and for us during the difficult decisions that we made to let his life go. Not many would go out of their way to comfort and pray over our concerns. She also went above and beyond by getting a meal from Panera Bread. She made sure we all had a variety and plenty of food. I cannot express how much appreciation we feel for her example of loving her patients and family while in the ICU and during this difficult time.

I would like to nominate my co-worker, Tammy Alsman, whom I work in Quality with each day. Tammy also works ICU when she is needed on the weekends and she just worked this past Saturday. She really bonded with one of her patient’s families in ICU. It was obvious to Tammy that the patient would not survive his insult, but she tried to remain positive with his family. She has visited the family each morning this week to check on them. Yesterday, the patient was made palliative care and was accepted to Hospice here at the hospital. The patient and family remain in the hospital and today Tammy went to Panera Bread on her lunch hour and bought the entire family food for when they are here today. I know this was expensive and she paid for it herself….she did not have to do this. She has gone over and above for this family and the family was so appreciative of her kindness. Thank you Tammy for being such an amazing and compassionate nurse and person.
