Anne was so kind and comforting that my stress level decreased and my nerves calmed. Her kindness, compassion, professionalism, and dedication were immediately apparent.
I was admitted as a patient on J2 after having knee surgery that was originally supposed to be an outpatient procedure. Due to a late time and delays along with a nerve block, I ended up being admitted to J2 as a patient at a late hour. I was nervous and also feeling a lot of stress as I knew the recovery would be painful along with the stress of being admitted. As soon as I came into the room I was greeted by my nurse Anne. Anne was so kind and comforting that my stress level decreased and my nerves calmed. Her kindness, compassion, professionalism, and dedication were immediately apparent. Throughout the night Anne was extremely busy as I could hear alarms sounding and patients calling for help. Anne went non-stop all night but she continued to check on me and make sure I was not hungry, thirsty, or in pain. I also observed her treating my roommate with the same compassion even with a language barrier. Anne kept me extremely comfortable and relaxed and took time to speak with me and talk with me even though she was in the middle of a long and busy twelve-hour shift. Anne even came in check on me, say goodbye, and wish me luck well after her shift had ended. Being the son of a retired nurse, having worked in EMS, and also currently being a police officer, I appreciate the stress that nurses have and the hours they work. What amazed me most was that Anne still found the time during her crazy shift to constantly check in on both my roommate and me and really showed me that she cared and treated me as an important patient.

I would also like to thank my day nurse Jess. Jess took over in the morning and also came in with a smile and a calming demeanor. Jess also checked on me and made sure I was comfortable and pain-free. Jess was also running around during her busy shift but still made the time to come in and talk and ask about my family. Jess also added a personal touch to my stay where I felt like I was not just a patient and I felt listened to and valued. Jess was awesome during my discharge and helped out with some confusion with my prescriptions. Jess also wheeled me to my car and wished me well all the while showing genuine concern for my well-being. Throughout the morning Jess showed compassion and kindness to me and made my stay memorable.

Both Anne and Jess are a true credit to the nursing profession. In a time where nurses are mistreated and sadly often not respected, especially after the pandemic, both nurses earned my utmost admiration and respect for their kindness, compassion, and dedication. Both Anne and Jess have been in the profession for a long time and the fact that they still have compassion and dedication after so many years is really an inspiration and a credit to their professionalism. Both Anne and Jess made my admission comforting and pleasant and really made me feel valued as a patient. Both added a personal touch by asking about my family and really made me feel valued. Thank you for having such amazing nurses on the floor and making my admission a really pleasant experience. I wish you all the best and good health.
