In addition to giving A the best care we could imagine, Courtney took care of our family.
Courtney was exactly the person we needed to be caring for my sister when she was in the ICU. During Courtney’s shift, A had just gotten out of brain surgery after having a stroke. We were all so scared. Being in an ICU room when you’ve never been in one before is intimidating. You’ve never seen your sister in this way before, everything’s beeping, it's cold, and the emotions you’re feeling are so intense. It all just takes your breath away.

In addition to giving A the best care we could imagine, Courtney took care of our family. She explained every machine, every medication, who everyone was, and everything that was going on, knowing that we had no idea but were too scared and in shock to ask. Courtney asked us questions about A which was so different from all the doctors that came in. I really valued how Courtney got to know A as a person beyond just a patient. Our family will never ever forget the kindness and compassion Courtney showed during those first post-op hours. We still talk about her and how much of an impact she made on our lives, in addition to A’s life. She is the best of the best and we feel so lucky to have crossed paths with her. Courtney, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you. The work you do and the lives you impact are incredible. We feel so lucky to have met you and for A to have received your care.
