My daughter was admitted to the pediatric unit for five days in August. Annette was her nurse the first morning she was there and although my daughter and I had barely slept the night before due to the tests they were running she helped make us laugh and did a wonderful job getting my daughter comfortable and situated all while getting to know things about my daughter so she could interact with her better. For a scared 12-year-old who had not been admitted to the hospital since she was in the NICU after her birth, Annette’s demeanor, friendliness, attentiveness, and obvious love of her job helped ease her nervousness and helped her open up and feel comfortable talking to the medial staff. Annette found out how much we were missing our two mini golden doodles at home and she arranged to have a therapy dog “in training” (Maverick) come and visit my daughter. Annette was our nurse for 2 days while we were there and was on the floor as the charge nurse another day. She checked on my daughter frequently and always made sure I had coffee in the morning and water throughout the day. And was always making us smile!! She is truly a gem!
