Michelle started as an RN in our emergency department almost 10 years ago. She has been our ED manager for the last 2 years (taking on the role in 2020). She has led our ED through some of the most challenging times in health care– Covid, and full EPIC EMR conversion to name a few. Michelle is an exceptional nurse manager along with her great knowledge and skill in the ED. She has worked on and led several improvements within our Emergency Department over this last year.

She was instrumental in leading her team in reducing urinary catheter insertions in the ED by 68%. This has impacted our overall urinary catheter utilization days as well as our reducing our hospital CAUTIs. She has been instrumental in working collaboratively with her nursing staff and ED physicians to maintain excellence in patient experience meeting goals for the last 2 years (2021/2022).

Michelle holds herself to high professional standards in all that she does and advocates the same for those she leads. She approaches problems with optimism and a can-do attitude. She is passionate about providing high-quality care for our patients and is considered a role model.
