I learned about Jerrica Marquez while I was a patient at McNeal Hospital in Berwyn Illinois. While the other nurses there were pleasant, Jerrica stood out. She was not only pleasant but she showed genuine concern for me. She answered all of my crazy questions with kindness. When I had a concern about my medication, she assured me she would look into it and she went out of her way to get the situation settled. When I was having a problem with medication given by IV she made sure the medicine went in painlessly. She checked up on me regularly and made sure I understood what was going on with my oxygen flow when it dropped. She was genuinely concerned about what was going on. She watched the monitor closely and explained what was going on with me. I found her manner to be quite calm and precise. Her care was genuine. I knew I wanted to have her recognized in some way so I asked how I could go about doing that. She is a wonderful nurse and I wanted to have a way to make sure she knew how I felt. She really stood out. Her professionalism and kindness will not be forgotten.
