Although I am not always good at expressing myself, I felt it was important to share my story about the nurse who cared for me which I had not ever experienced before. I was in so much pain, angry, mean, and ready to leave AMA but I met Sammieka. The moment she entered my room, I immediately felt like she cared. She let me speak and get out all my anger before asking me lots of questions. She REALLY listened to what I had to say first and then asked questions. She came up with ways we should try to take care of my pain which worked, and I finally was able to be calm and actually eat.

This all made me realize that Sammieka was the key to me feeling better and I could trust her. Each time she came into my room, you could tell she cared from the heart. She even stopped in to check on me when she was working on another floor which was very impressive. I am a sales manager for a local auto sales manager and here is a list of what I noticed that makes her a DAISY Nurse in my opinion: Sammieka listens, CARES, works hard, honest to a fault, wants to better herself and others, is calm, patient, detailed, compassionate, and frankly, the list could go on. Every patient should have her as a nurse (and I bet she is a GREAT mom too)!
