Chelsea is always a strong advocate for the veterans she works with. During a recent HBPC admission, the male elderly veteran who lives alone is hard of hearing and has memory impairment was tearful that his phone was not working and he was unable to call his brother for the holidays. In addition to a complex admission and time spent sorting through his multiple medications to set up a medi-set with the correct medications, Chelsea took the extra time to help the veteran connect with his telephone company. She helped the Veteran understand the steps he would need to take to get a new phone and to set up his phone so he could reach family for the holidays as well as connect with needed medical care.
