She always knows what is going on and is there to guide her staff. I have never felt so confident in my decision-making because I know she has my back.
"It's a beautiful thing when a leader doesn't care who gets the credit". I have always felt that it takes a whole team to accomplish greatness especially in the profession of nursing. My manager Margaret Mancini is the definition of a team leader and truly believes in her team as a whole. As an employee of the network for 11 years now, I have had many managers over the years. I have never felt so supported or appreciated as I have since becoming a supervisor over a year ago. Margaret mentored me through staffing and on mornings when it all fell apart, she was there by my side not blaming but encouraging and helping me fix the disaster. I have never met a manager since I first started working at the age of 15 at Duck Deli that is truly available to their staff 24/7. I swear Margaret does not sleep. I have never known a manager to come in and fill in on a weekend day when their staff member must go home sick in the middle of the day, but Margaret does. The supervisor group is the nursing leadership on the off shift. We deal with all the problems and help organize staffing throughout the facility. Margaret always makes sure that shifts are covered and if not, she rearranges her life to cover them herself. She does what is best for her staff and the staff on all units of the hospital. I have never known a manager that picks up their phone at all hours of the night to answer questions on her day off or just talk something through, but Margaret does. She always knows what is going on and is there to guide her staff. I have never felt so confident in my decision-making because I know she has my back. I have never felt like a manager truly cared about my well-being or my family's well-being until I started working for Margaret. I feel as though this compassion is so important to maintaining a healthy employee, she makes me feel as though I matter. I have watched her flawlessly speak to nurses, patients, and family members going through difficult times. When nurses and PCPs are pushed to their limits out on the floor Margaret is not just hearing about it from behind a desk, she is out on the floor helping the people that need it the most. I don't know how someone could represent this establishment and our group any better than Margaret Mancini. I am proud to be her employee, I am honored to work by her side, and she is the reason I remain a staff member of LVHN.
