I have been an RN for 28 years in adult critical care and have seen many managers come and go. It is with confidence I say that Peggy has been far and above the best manager I have ever had. She tirelessly provides support to bedside nursing and families with 24/7 accountability. I have seen her many times over the last two years work a ten-hour manager shift go home for two hours and return to staff the night shift when we are short and drowning. She does this with professional fortitude and a smile. It is easy to follow a leader who advocates for nursing as a profession and holds all accountable to standards of excellence. Nurses' week happened to fall in the middle of her two-week vacation (in over two years) and she went out of her way to make sure meals were planned every day went shopping and delivered food so staff would feel the extent of her gratitude. Gift bags and gifts were delivered along with coffee cards for all. Peggy's dedication to her staff and facility does not go unnoticed she makes our careers more fulfilling just by being here.
