I was nervous for my dad but knew he would be okay because Alex kept us calm.
I took my dad on Sunday morning to the ER, after he passed out at church. Alex came and checked on us while he was doing 30 things at once - answering the ambulance radio, and greeting ambulances (there were 6 ambulances in the hallway). On top of all those ambulances waiting for 30-plus minutes, Alex made sure my dad was good. He kept us updated after he left each time, he patted my dad and me on the shoulders. That human touch made all the difference. I was nervous for my dad but knew he would be okay because Alex kept us calm. That human touch, the reassurance, is what Human Kindness is all about. He helped me get my dad back in the wheelchair, and we were on our way home. Alex went above and beyond, but I get the feeling that he is always like that.
