I have been working with Rachelle Miller RN for over a year now and there’s not a shift that goes by that I don’t see total compassion and 100% effort for her patients from her. Every day, no matter the patient load, Rachelle is all in all the time for her patients and her coworkers. She is selfless, dependable, and so knowledgeable. As a PCE, working with a strong nurse is such a blessing. I look up to her in every way and I hope to be half the nurse that she is someday.

Rachelle was a tremendous help in educating a patient whom she discharged the day before. We had a patient discharge to home that needed to have a Dexcom to monitor his blood sugars. He is elderly and this was all new to him. The patient picked up his device from the pharmacy and came back the next day to have Rachelle help him place the device and learn how to monitor his blood sugar. Rachelle spent at least 30 minutes with the patient showing him how to place the Dexcom, how it works, how to interpret the messages on the device, what they mean, and what actions need to be taken. She was so informative and kind to this gentleman and he was so appreciative. He said, "I knew you were working today and you would be the best person to help me figure this out." Rachelle did a great job and I learned a lot also by listening to her educate the patient.
