Claire McCormick (ED) I have had the privilege of watching Claire start as a new grad nurse and blossom into the amazing nurse that she has become. Claire is the definition of what a hero is. She always comes to work with a smile that boosts everyone's morale. She then proceeds to start and end her shift with that same smile. She does her best to provide amazing care for all her patients. She is a very competent/compassionate nurse. She treats everyone with respect from her patients to her coworkers. She is an absolute asset to the Providence Family. As a nurse of many years, Claire has given me the spark I needed to continue to work and become a better me on the daily. She also brings in homemade cookies and cupcakes to boost morale and let me tell you, they do not last long at all, even though she brings in plenty and does so, so often. No matter how hectic the night is she performs her duties with pride and provides quality care to her patients. She has quickly become a dependable nurse and responds to codes without hesitation. I could literally write an essay on how many times she has amazed me and the Southfield ED family but I hope this was enough to award her the DAISY Award because when we support our young they will blossom into an extraordinary DAISY which Claire is.
