All of the things she did were in her daily duty, but how she performed them was outstanding and way above the basic role of a nurse.
I wanted to commend Debra for her excellent nursing care that she gave to my mother on Sunday. My mother has been hospitalized with dementia and altered neurologic status and has been undergoing tests to determine why she has had an acute decline in her daily functioning. My mom had been having a bad day, sleeping all day and unresponsive. When I arrived to visit my mother, Debra immediately came to me to explain the situation about her bad day, what tests they had run to check her out and called the doctor to come and talk to me. All of that happened in the first 15 minutes of my arrival. I was so appreciative of her responsiveness to me and my mother. My mother eventually woke up and was able to communicate in her limited way. Throughout my visit (along with my family arriving for a visit, too), Debra consistently came in to check on my mother and to make sure she was doing OK. All of the things she did were in her daily duty, but how she performed them was outstanding and way above the basic role of a nurse. My family is truly grateful to her and the rest of the nursing staff.
