Michael Madayag recently came to us at St. David’s Austin Surgery Center from Hawaii! He had a great interest in training in the Operating Room so we created a plan for him and took him under our wings, he had no prior OR experience before coming here. During that time, Michael has shown a great deal of growth, both personally and professionally. He is always up for a challenge, eager to learn something new, and to engage in a new task. During his first 6 months here, not only has he become proficient in all of our OR cases, but he’s also taken on the role of Pharmacy Nurse Back-Up, helps with monthly logs, and specimen audits. Most recently, he started training in the Charge RN role.

His talents go beyond the ORs, and he is such a sweet person through and through. Everyone appreciates his kindness, helpfulness, and positivity. He’s literally the ray of sunshine from Hawaii that we thought we’d be getting. He fully deserves this recognition and more.
