Amy even bought him boots and a jacket for the winter.
I have worked with Amy for a few years. The patient for which this story is about recently died, but she took great care of him. She is always kind and goes above and beyond for anyone. She is a go-to girl for everything.
I wanted to recognize her for what she did with this patient who came to the clinic. With no family or friends here, she took him under her wing and started helping him. She would drive him home when needed. Each week he came to the clinic, she would pick up his medications from the local pharmacy to ensure he got them. She would often go to his house to help him with his medications. She gave him a special medication dispenser with an alarm. The dispenser unlocked the medication he needed to take morning and afternoon and would refill it for him for the week. She even bought him boots and a jacket for the winter. I am sure she even went and got groceries for him when he needed some.
When he did not know how to pay his electric bill, he would come to the clinic, and she would patiently help him pay it. I know she would even help him on the weekends whenever he called needing help. She took great care of this little man and did not expect anything in return. I believe she deserves this award not for only doing such a kind-hearted thing for this man, but honestly, she would do this for anyone. I cannot count how many times she has helped each of us at the clinic do something. She never complains, is a great person, has a great work ethic, and is a great friend and nurse to all of us!
