Pam was pulled out of the ER as an ER charge nurse to help with IMC. I was in the ER with a critically ill patient. The patient was deteriorating. I called Pam to come and help me. Within minutes, Pam was at the bedside helping me. Pam explained to the patient what was going on. Pam held the patient’s hand and reassured her everything would be okay. The patient’s significant other voiced several times how he felt anxious. Pam calmed him down. Pam took the time to teach me. Everyone in the room felt safe with her there. Pam is a seasoned, experienced nurse. I am so thankful for her knowledge and calmness during a very hectic time. I will never forget it.
